Precautions during pregnancy
Pregnancy is a special time for all women, a time of joy as well as caution, and also of learning about some unknowns.
When I conceived my first child, I had to face many
problems which I had to struggle to cope with.
Although we know a lot of things for the needs of this
time, we need guidance on how to use them in a timely manner, so we have to run
to the doctor again and again.
Learning from that suffering, I tried to absorb
everything I learned from the doctor and everything I received about health
care, and I also tried to inform others.
I used to go to the doctor with various problems. All
the suggestions of the doctor were very helpful for me.
The doctor said - various types of infections can
occur during pregnancy, because the excess of some hormones during pregnancy
increases the rate of these infections. He warned - many people take medicine
for such infections without consulting a doctor. But this is not right at all.
This can have adverse effects on the unborn child.
During pregnancy, the immune system decreases
slightly, so repeated infections can occur. The risk increases many times if
gestational diabetes occurs.
Moreover, some other infections may occur during
pregnancy, such as fever, cold/cough, respiratory tract infections, stomach
infections, and urinary tract infections are common problems at this time.
However, women may urinate frequently during
pregnancy. This happens because the uterus puts pressure on the bladder.
Therefore, frequent urination does not mean that there is an infection.
If urination is excessively frequent, there is
discomfort or pain in the lower abdomen, burning or discomfort during
urination, then antibiotics should be taken only after confirming by taking a
urine test. Antibiotics should not be taken without a urine culture.
Although some antibiotics (such as amoxicillin,
penicillin or erythromycin) are safe, most antibiotics are not safe. Therefore,
it is not advisable to take any medicine without consulting a doctor.
1. Cold
and cough pathogens - (mostly viral) can be easily spread from one person to
another through sneezing and coughing. Fever may occur, and even pneumonia may
occur. If the mother is infected with the virus, the baby may develop physical
defects. However, most colds and coughs get better on their own within two to
three days without any medicine. They do not affect the child's body. However,
colds and coughs cannot be neglected at all. If you catch a cold, you should
take adequate rest.
2. Some
natural and home remedies for colds and coughs can be taken, such as - boiling
water in a bowl and placing your face over the bowl and inhaling the steam of
hot water. This is a good natural solution for nasal congestion, sore throat
and cough. Apart from this, you can gargle with a little salt in lukewarm water
two to three times a day, cloves or ginger can be mixed in this water. You can
also drink tea with ginger, cloves and honey.
3. All
together or any one separately - this tea is very beneficial at any time. These
have various herbal properties. It provides quick relief from discomfort. In
addition, it can be consumed with honey in lemon water. As the risk of
infection increases during pregnancy, dust and crowds should be avoided.
4. To
avoid urinary tract infections, you should drink at least eight glasses of
water a day. Even though frequent trips to the bathroom are annoying, you
should not drink less water. And you should not hold your urine. You should
empty your bladder and urinate at a time. There is no shame in taking a long
time in the bathroom - for anyone. If you feel burning during urination or any
discomfort in the lower abdomen, you should immediately seek medical attention.
Do not self-medicate under any circumstances.
5. Of
course, all kinds of cleanliness should be maintained. Tight and damp clothes
should not be worn. If there is sweating or any kind of problem, the clothes
should be changed repeatedly. It is better to use cotton and dry clothes. Be it
winter or summer - one should not stay in a cold place at all. It is good to
use a mask on the face depending on the time - because the mask prevents many
things including dust and sand - we all know this nowadays.
6. Some
tips can be given regarding general cleanliness and precautions, such as –
* It is better not to use harsh
chemical soaps, washes, cosmetics.
* It is better to use a shower
instead of a bathtub.
* After using the toilet, wipe from
front to back and not from back to front when using toilet paper (this applies
to everyone).
* Eat plenty of green vegetables and
fruits rich in vitamin C. Eat light, warm food prepared at home instead of
eating outside food.

Regarding the need for medication, the doctor said -
No medication should be taken without the advice of a
specialist. And understand well what the doctor is giving.
•
If the cough is severe, the doctor can
give the pregnant woman medicine like cough syrup
•
Antihistamine medicine for cold and flu
•

women in case of respiratory tract inflammation and infection
•

give medicines that are safe during pregnancy if he understands the situation.
If you want to lead a healthy life - then this
is how it should be.
