My work assistant's teeth are stained with betel juice
- mixed with yellow and red, and my young daughter's teeth are white and
beautiful, - this was the first thing my daughter noticed, and she kept talking
about it at home - "Auntie, your teeth are not beautiful, my teeth are
beautiful". But within a few days, cavities appeared in my daughter's
teeth, and she had to go to the doctor. And that's when the matter came to my
mind and I started looking into overall dental care.
Are teeth just for observing beauty? No - they are
not. Follow the proverb "To have teeth, you have to give dignity to
teeth". Otherwise - look at those who are suffering today. Only the
sufferers know what the problem of teeth.
Dentists say - Teeth grinding is a very common problem
when you eat something hot or cold. This toothache can spread to the head and
become a major health problem. Sometimes in winter, a little cold air or
drinking tea or water can cause toothache. The reason why this toothache is
more common during winter is because the teeth are very sensitive at this time.
When the enamel on the surface of the tooth or in the
area around the gums is removed and the dentin is eroded, in some cases it
moves closer to the nerve, that is, the pulp area. Then the teeth tingles more.
The
causes of tooth decay are -
1. Those
who brush their teeth vigorously and incorrectly for a long time (such as
straight teeth).
2. Those
who have gastric ulcers or acidity.
3. Those
who do not rinse their mouth or brush their teeth after eating sour fruits
(such as guava, orange, amalaki) or fruit juices.
What
to do? Dentist's advice- --
1. Use
toothpaste mixed with fluoride, potassium nitrate and sodium
monofluorophosphate for at least three months to prevent tooth decay.
2. Treatment
can be determined by measuring the degree of tooth decay (clinical examination
and X-ray). For example, those who have only lost enamel or have lost enamel
due to tooth decay, their tooth decay can be filled with modern quality filling
materials. Not only can tooth decay be prevented, pain will also be eliminated.
3. For
those whose tooth decay has penetrated the enamel/dentin and reached the nerve
or pulp, it is possible to protect the tooth by placing a porcelain or metal
cap after root canal treatment.
Food
for healthy teeth -
Nutrition experts say - The health of teeth is closely
related to food, just like our other organs. Some foods are good for teeth,
while some are bad. Fiber-rich foods act as a cleanser or detergent for teeth
and gums. They help in the secretion of saliva, which builds natural resistance
against cavities.
Grains like wheat, corn, and bean seeds contain
magnesium in addition to fiber, which protects enamel. Vitamins C, D, and
calcium found in various fruits, such as oranges, grapefruits, and pineapples,
are also beneficial for teeth. Eating apples increases saliva secretion, and
besides, removes tooth stains. However, you should rinse your mouth thoroughly
after eating sour or acidic fruits.
Cheese, milk, yogurt, and dairy products are good for
your teeth. They contain phosphorus and calcium, which are important minerals
for your teeth. Chewing sugar-free gum produces a lot of saliva, which helps
remove food particles stuck in the gaps between your teeth and wash away
bacteria. The role of fluoride in good dental health is also undeniable. To
keep your teeth healthy, you need to drink plenty of water. This water keeps
your gums moist, removes stuck food particles, and prevents enamel erosion.
Which
ones are harmful ----
1. Sticky
and sugary sweets, candies, pastries, cakes, breads and crunchy and brittle foods
such as biscuits, chips, etc. get stuck in the gaps between the teeth.
2. If
they stick to the teeth after eating dates and raisins, they can cause
bacterial infection. Again, the acid in acidic sour fruits also damages the
enamel.
3. Carbonated
soft drinks contain a lot of sugar, phosphoric acid and citric acid. These are
harmful to the enamel.
4. Very
cold or very hot foods can cause damage to the teeth. Especially eating
something cold or drinking cold water after eating hot food is even more harmful.
Just like what happens when you take a glass out of hot water and put it into
cold water, the same thing happens with teeth.
