The doctor said - When you have dengue fever, the
patient feels very unwell, feels very weak. Again, dehydration and mineral salt
imbalances may occur in the body, and blood pressure may drop. The imbalance of
fluid inside and outside the blood vessels is one of the causes of
complications. Therefore, to reduce complications in dengue, doctors emphasize
rest, diet, and liquid food. It is especially important to take care of
children.
To lead a healthy life - we have to be aware of food at
every stage of life.
1) The
first thing is to drink plenty of water and liquid foods. An adult should drink
two to two and a half liters of fluids in 24 hours. Not only water, but also coconut
water, fruit juice, lemonade, saline solution, etc. should be drunk because of
the difference in mineral salts. If you have diabetes, choose sugar-free drinks
(such as coconut water, homemade fruit juice). If you have kidney problems,
drinking too much coconut water can increase potassium. Therefore, you should
consult a doctor.
2) Not
only liquids, keep more vitamin C-rich fruits in your diet at this time. For
example, the vitamin C in watermelon, orange, lemon, grapefruit, guava,
pineapple, apple, etc. will increase immunity and help fight diseases. It will
also meet the need for antioxidants.
3) Choose
foods that have a high water content. Such as soup, porridge, thin broth curry,
gourd or rice pumpkin broth, cucumber, tomato, etc. These foods are high in
water and are helpful in replenishing dehydration.
4) If
you have dengue, you need to eat foods rich in vitamin 'K'. Vitamin 'K' helps
blood clot by producing prothrombin in the blood, so the risk of bleeding is
reduced. Broccoli, cauliflower, kale, green vegetables, egg yolks contain
vitamin 'K'. Soups made from green vegetables are beneficial.
5) When
you have a fever or infection, your metabolism increases, and your calorie
needs also increase. To get enough calories, choose nutritious foods, such as
chicken soup, egg soup, lentil soup, etc., and protein-rich foods.
6) The
patient cannot eat much due to lack of appetite. Therefore, you should eat
foods that are high in calories and nutrients in small amounts. Such as soup
made from rice, lentils, vegetables, thin fish or chicken broth, pies, pudding,
semolina, milk, sago, etc. Semi-liquid and soft foods will be easily digested.
7) Liver
enzymes or SGPT often increase in dengue. Some people have vomiting and
diarrhea. Therefore, give easily digestible light oil-spiced food. It is better
to avoid oily-fatty foods, fast food, fried and spicy foods.
8) Eating
too hard or crunchy food can cause bleeding from the gums. Bleeding can also
occur when the lips are cracked. Therefore, it is better not to eat too hard
food.
Everyone should be aware to overcome the suffering of
dengue and return to normal life - to lead a healthy life.
