Nowadays, it is seen that people in our families or around us get 'forgetful' disease as they approach middle age. Many times we get annoyed with these people. But this is not right. It is a disease, called 'Alzheimer'.

'Alzheimer' is a neurological disease. It shrinks the brain and kills brain cells. As a result, memory decreases and one cannot remember anything.

Therefore, one must be aware for a healthy life - one must know how to prevent the problem.

Alzheimer's disease is a type of brain abnormality, which usually causes memory loss, the patient's cognitive function or awareness of the surroundings begins to decline.

A recently published journal report shows that regular uninterrupted sleep is very important for children/youth/elderly people. Because sleep plays a very helpful role in increasing or maintaining memory. Therefore, it can also be helpful in avoiding Alzheimer's in old age.

This disease is more likely to occur after the age of 65. There is no cure for this disease. As the disease progresses, the patient's physical condition also deteriorates, and the patient becomes completely dependent due to inability to perform other daily tasks including eating.

To reduce the risk of Alzheimer's and dementia, we need to change our eating habits. For this, a 'mild diet' is very beneficial.

To follow a mild diet, the following foods can be included in the daily food list as advised by nutrition experts -

1. Include whole grain foods in the daily food list. Red flour, red rice, corn, wheat, oats, whole grain pasta, popcorn - these are whole grain foods.

2. Sea fish - Omega-3 rich fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel, etc. are very beneficial for brain health. Try to eat sea fish at least two days a week.

3. Beans and bean sprouts - It is very beneficial in preventing dementia. It contains protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

4. Vegetables - Green vegetables - especially spinach, broccoli, cabbage, turnips and other green vegetables should be eaten. They contain lutein, folate, vitamin E, beta carotene and polyphenols.

5. Salad - Eating salad once a day helps reduce the risk of dementia.

6. Almonds - Almonds are a great way to improve memory. Eat a small amount of almonds at least five days a week.

7. Olive oil - You can use olive oil as a dressing for baking and making salads.

Some things to keep in mind when it comes to a mild diet -

Red meat, sweets should be eaten as little as possible. Fast food, oily food should not be eaten more than once a week. Follow the rules - to lead a healthy life.
