Sleep hygiene When we were young, our parents were very conscious about our sleep. They never let us stay up at night to do anything, including studying, they used to say – “There is no alternative to healthy sleep - to lead a healthy life . If we do not sleep properly, our head will not be well, which means the brain will not function properly. If the brain does not function properly, it means that the day is wasted”.  God has also designated night for rest and day for work.  But unfortunately, in the present era of extreme modernity, people have turned day into night – and night into day, we see every where!!   Desire is - I went to sleep, again - spent a few days without sleeping. Or having to take sleeping pills because you can't sleep, going to bed late, so getting up late the next day - none of this is healthy. It is not right to become dependent on sleeping pills because you are not sleeping. Said the expert - There is no substitute for adequate sleep t...

Self-control in problems like anger, depression and boredom

Self-control in problems like anger, depression and boredom

Nowadays, there is a great lack of patience in everyone in the family or society - we can see it if we look around, and we can see it even if we look at ourselves.

People lose patience very quickly and commit various crimes. In the present era of mechanical and busyness, although there is an opportunity to enjoy many benefits, the time/opportunity to refresh the mind of people has decreased. Jealousy-violence-greed-hate-selfishness sometimes causes anger.

Mechanical entertainment is also playing a special role here, but people do not give importance to this harm even though they understand it.

Mechanical entertainment gives rise to a kind of addiction - despite getting proof in various tests and observations, they are unable to quit due to addiction, and that's what causes various setbacks, from anger to accidents - and then - from that, depression, boredom, all these things are consuming us!

Every religion has repeatedly warned about the 'sixth sense'. 'Sixth sense' is the enemy within human. Which can bring about his own destruction at any time. Anger is one of the six senses.

Moreover, many major disasters in the world are caused due to the uncontrolled nature of this six sense - this is known to everyone.

Although the matter is not easy, it is true - that if you can control anger, it is possible to stay away from many daily mental stresses, and the deadly diseases that arise from mental stress, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure - you can easily stay away from their clutches. To lead a healthy life and fit life, we have to defeat this enemy.

Anger is not a disease, it is a natural emotion for every healthy person, a natural element of a healthy mind. But this emotion is the cause of many diseases. This emotion ranges from slight annoyance for some reason to intense excitement, anger that burns to the point of losing one's senses.

Although this emotion is placed in second place among human emotions, it is a common and normal emotion in psychological interpretation and physiological activity. But if this "emotion" cannot be controlled, various problems arise.

The damage to oneself then becomes magnified in problems such as hypertension.

According to the Health Journal - Chris Aiken, a psychiatrist at West Forest University in North Carolina, USA, said in a study, 'The risk of heart disease doubles within two hours of intense anger.

Expressing anger in a constructive way is good for the heart.

Another study by the Harvard School of Public Health in the United States shows that intense anger increases the risk of stroke (blood clot or bleeding in the blood vessels of the brain).

In addition, various studies have shown that excessive anger affects 'immunoglobulin-A' and reduces immunity. Anger can also cause various mental illnesses including extreme anxiety and depression. Anger can sometimes be the cause of major disasters on earth, which we have seen since the beginning of the world.

Uncontrolled expression of anger -

In order to prevent anger from being expressed in a harmful and uncontrolled way, American scientist Charles Spielberger said in his research that anger cannot be completely suppressed, nor can it be completely suppressed.

Because, suppressed anger can lead to various mental and physical problems - such as depression, high blood pressure, irritability, personality problems, etc. The expression of anger should be constructive, assertive, but not at all aggressive.

Therefore, the problem can be solved only when an angry person is aware of his own anger. The matter that is causing anger should not only be seen from his own perspective, but also from the perspective of another person, in this way, the matter can be presented in a different way, the expression and behavior of someone's anger can change. This means that anger cannot be completely suppressed. A German study has shown that those who suppress anger, keep it in their minds, their heart rate increases, their blood pressure fluctuates, and depression occurs in them.

Experts say about ways to control anger -

1.     In this complex world, there is no shortage of people who provoke anger with foul words and actions, but there is a shortage of people who provide comfort and support.

2.     Therefore, to keep yourself healthy and adapt to the environment, everyone must make themselves capable of saving from all evil.

3.     There are many among us who can cause incidents like destroying the lives of others through fun, but they do not admit that it is wrong or do not have the ability to understand the wrong. So be careful in doing this simple fun. Everyone needs to understand the limits of fun or amusement - we need to learn.

4.     This requires healthy-effective social skills, which must start from the family. If the elders of each family are skilled, the next ones will automatically become skilled. Everyone must gain from family-society-and experience, and the younger ones must also be helped so that they can also achieve this. It is not right for anyone to reach a decision quickly. Alternative thinking strategies must be learned.

5.     The mind should not make a one-sided decision just by seeing a single incident. One should understand the context and surroundings of the incident before expressing emotions. Of course, this requires a lot of patience. Therefore, everyone should practice patience from childhood.

6.     Any issue should be explained with logic.

7.     There are some techniques to calm yourself down when anger arises, - You should relax your body a little. You should take deep breaths, and repeatedly say to yourself some constructive short sentences, such as 'It's okay', 'Calm down'.

8.     It is said in the Hadith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said - If anger arises, you should sit down if you are standing, lie down if you are sitting, and stand up if you are lying down.

9.     Walking in the fresh air every day is beneficial and taking deep breaths during that time keeps the mind calm.

10.  Spending time with family and relatives occasionally and going out with them also gives mental peace.

11.  Parents should never show anger in front of children.

12.  It is good to keep some time to think about yourself. If you organize what has been done or what needs to be done throughout the day in your mind, you will have the opportunity to complete all the tasks smoothly, which keeps the mind good.

13. The habit of smiling and being happy with little helps you to be good with yourself and others.

14.  Any kind of drug use is harmful, because taking drugs reduces the ability to control emotions.

15.  Mental problems like depression, obsession, personality problems, conduct disorder in children and adolescents, etc. can cause abnormal anger. Therefore, one should seek the help of a specialist psychiatrist.

If we think about it another way - there are experts for any kind of disorder. And aren't we ourselves enough to protect ourselves from common anger, emotions and other such reasons? For example -

a.      Boredom in our daily life is a very common thing. It can make us irritable. We have to find a way to get rid of this boredom. No one is exempt from the responsibilities of daily life. So we have to find some time for ourselves.

During this time, we can do whatever we love to do. Anything from painting, sewing, gardening, reading books can be on this list. Even hanging out with friends can be on this list.

b.     Everyone should stay away from fear while doing something according to their own mind. Fear keeps people stuck and this mental inertia provokes various inactions including anger. For example - someone dreams of running 40 miles, or someone dreams of writing a novel.

But first, do not dismiss it as impossible because of fear. It is not possible to run 40 miles in a day or write a novel in a day. If you try a little bit every day, one day you will see that you have run a mile. In this way, one day you will complete 40 miles, and the novel of the person who wants to write will also see the face of success.

In this way, any task of fear will become successful one day with daily efforts. Fear will also run away. The mind will also become calm. Anger will be removed from anything that seems to be an obstacle.

c.      Many of us blame ourselves when we fail in doing something. Then anger comes and fills us. So we have to move forward as needed. We have to practice moving forward step by step.

Be it studies, housework, office work, business, even love. Everything in our life is a task, and in everything there is success and failure. Failure has many colors.

After starting the work, if we set small goals and move forward, eventually the whole task will be completed with these small achievements. This is success. This is the medicine to cure anger. Healthy environment is the path to a healthy life - A healthy environment is very necessary for living a healthy life.

d.     Don't get upset about a boring life - we need to develop the ability to protect ourselves from the clutches of boredom and think about our own achievements, which makes us feel good. This is how we can motivate ourselves.

## If we can control anger, control jealousy - selfishness - lust, and transform grief into strength, the rest of the evils of the sixth sense will simply disappear, and we can be saved from many life-threatening problems caused by them - this is absolutely necessary to lead a healthy life.
