Common uterine tumor "fibroids"

Who
is more likely to get fibroids?
20 percent of women of childbearing age have fibroids,
those who are not having children, those who are obese or overweight may have
them, and it may also be due to genetic reasons.
How
to understand -
In most cases, fibroids do not cause any problems, so
they are not noticed. Excessive bleeding during menstruation can be one of the
symptoms. In addition, lower abdominal pain during menstruation, feeling of
heaviness in the lower abdomen, repeated miscarriages, frequent urinary
pressure or urinary retention, constipation - these problems can be caused.
How
to diagnose the disease-?
If there is a suspicion of fibroids on the basis of
symptoms and a physical examination of the patient, an ultra-sonogram can be
used. However, sometimes an MRI may be required.
What
treatment can be taken -
There is no such thing as surgery for fibroids. It
depends on the extent of the problem. Sometimes even large tumors do not cause
any problems, again - small fibroids can also cause many problems.
Those that are on the outside of the uterine wall (sub-serous)
are not that harmful. But even small tumors inside the uterine cavity can cause
more problems.
The treatment for fibroids is surgery. Surgery can
sometimes be risky. Therefore, blood and blood donors should be arranged in
advance before surgery.
Sometimes only the tumor can be removed, sometimes the
entire uterus has to be removed, sometimes the size of the tumor is reduced by
oral medications or injections. However, these oral medications can have side
effects on the liver. Therefore, the doctor will decide based on the overall
condition. Do not impose any opinion on the doctor yourself.
Fibroids can recur after being removed. Therefore, you
need to be under the supervision of a doctor.
