GIVE BLOOD - SAVE LIFE
We all know the need for blood for every living being,
we all know the physical and human benefits of donating blood, but when the
need arises, many of us hold back out of fear. Then we get tired of looking for
blood donors.
I myself once desperately searched for a pint of blood
when my mother was sick and in the hospital. Her blood type was O-negative.
Much later, an acquaintance agreed to donate. That's when I realized that
'blood donation' is a great service.
Therefore, I attach great importance to the matter of
blood donation. When I hear someone voluntarily donating blood, I thank the
donor a lot in my heart. Many times, I hear someone is desperate for a pint of
blood because they cannot get the blood of the required group. However, there
is someone close at hand but they do not agree to donate blood out of fear,
whereas doing this noble deed does not do any harm except benefit.
Doctors say - both the donor and the recipient benefit
equally. However, due to ignorance, we run away when we hear the name of blood
donation.
But it is very important for all of us to know and
understand that donating blood is a humanitarian act. Many people have fear and
misconceptions about donating blood. But in reality, donating blood does not
harm the body. The body does not dry out or its strength is not depleted.
Rather, there are many benefits of donating blood and you can also play a role
in saving the lives of others through blood donation.
The doctor said - Research shows that regular blood
donation reduces the risk of some cancers. Blood donation activates the blood
cell production system of the bone marrow and increases the rate of production
of new red blood cells. Blood donation is good for those who have a tendency to
accumulate iron in their blood. Blood donation reduces cholesterol levels, and
sometimes blood pressure is also controlled.
On the other hand - many people get checked for
hepatitis B or C, HIV, syphilis, malaria, etc. when donating blood, which we
normally don't feel the need to check.
Who
can donate blood? -
1. Any physically and mentally healthy and capable
person between the ages of 18 and 60 can donate blood.
2. Those who weigh 50 kg or more (sometimes the
minimum weight is 45 kg).

grams/deciliter for men and minimum 11 grams/deciliter for women).

normal, blood should not be donated at that moment.
3. Respiratory diseases, such as asthma.
4. If you have blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis
B or C, jaundice, AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, malaria, etc., blood should not be
donated. Apart from that, if you have typhoid, diabetes, skin diseases,
rheumatic fever, or heart disease, you should not donate blood.
5. Pregnant women and those who are menstruating
should not donate blood, not even within one year of giving birth.
6. Those who are taking certain medications, such as
chemotherapy, hormone therapy, Antibiotics etc. They should not donate blood at
that time.
