Silent killer - be aware of abnormal blood pressure

I have known the problem myself for my own needs, and so everyone needs to know their blood pressure to lead a healthy life.

Experts have identified high blood pressure as a silent killer like diabetes, because - in most cases, high blood pressure has no symptoms or signs, and is diagnosed suddenly.

Sometimes it is determined by complications. Complications due to high blood pressure can cause eye, kidney, brain or heart problems. So after a certain age everyone should measure their blood pressure regularly.

Different forms of blood pressure -

1. A person is considered to have high blood pressure if their blood pressure is 140/90 mmHg or more once or twice.

2. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg or below.

3. If your blood pressure is between the above two blood pressure ranges, it is called pre-hypertension. According to the latest guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology, pre-hypertension is again divided into two categories. Blood pressure below 130/85 mm Hg is normal and above but below 140/90 mm Hg is high normal blood pressure.

How to measure blood pressure? ---

It is good if you can learn to measure blood pressure at home by yourself, just try a little. This avoids repeated visits to the hospital or doctor. Be aware of yourself by measuring your blood pressure, but never self-medicate.

1. Remove the arm cloth or tie the cuff over a thin loose cloth. Tie the cuff in the right place, not too loosely.

2. Do not talk while taking blood pressure.

3. Rest for at least 5 minutes before blood pressure measurement. Measurements should not be made hastily or hastily.

4. Do not drink tea, coffee, smoke at least half an hour before blood pressure measurement.

5. There is no need to measure blood pressure every day or several times a day. This will increase the unnecessary anxiety and it will feel more blood pressure.

6. If the blood pressure level seems to be a little high, do not be restless or anxious, rest and measure again after two minutes. If you get more than that, there is no need to treat immediately, at least if you get more than two days in a row, consult a doctor.

Blood pressure increase-decrease? --

Doctor says - Many people say that their blood pressure fluctuates, it is found different from time to time.

Blood pressure can change with different times of the day, different activities, eating-sleeping-resting or exertion-excitement. Our blood pressure is lowest during midnight sleep. It begins to increase in the morning and reaches its maximum in the afternoon. Then it starts to decrease again. These daily fluctuations should not exceed 10-15 mm systolic and 5-10 mm Hg diastolic.

Many people find their blood pressure high only when they go to the doctor, but it is low at home. If this is the case or if daily fluctuations are high, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring should be ensured.

Stroke is one of the many life-threatening problems caused by abnormal blood pressure.

Doctors say women's risk of stroke or paralysis is much the same as men's. However, women are also at risk of stroke due to maternal, fertility and hormonal factors. Strokes account for a large proportion of bedridden patients, especially in older women.

Factors that increase the risk of stroke in women include:

1. Ignoring high blood pressure, diabetes, heart valve disease, irregular heartbeat.

2. History of gestational hypertension, eclampsia, pre-eclampsia.

3. Many women are more prone to blood clots during pregnancy. 12 weeks after delivery, women go through a vulnerable period.

4. Some post-partum complications (eg - excessive bleeding, intrauterine fluid getting stuck in a blood vessel).

5. Giving birth by surgery.

6. Taking high-dose hormonal contraceptives, taking hormone therapy during menopause.

7. Smoking, second-hand smoke, tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption.

8. Migraine.

9. Overweight, physical inactivity, prolonged immobility or bed rest.

10. Tendency to stop breathing during sleep.

11. Stress, aging.

12. A family history of stoke.

Doctor's advice to reduce the risk --

1. Control blood pressure, diabetes and blood fat.

2. Exercise or walk for at least 30 minutes a day (at least 5 days a week). The level of exercise should be such that breathing is vigorous, but not panting.

3. Eat fiber-rich foods. Eat vegetables and fruits. Do not eat excess salt.

4. For those who are at high risk, consider alternative methods of birth control. If you want to take medicine, choose medicine that has low level of hormones. But do not take medicine for a long time. If you need hormone therapy to reduce hot flushes after menopause, consult a specialist doctor.

5. Avoid smoking, alcohol.

6. Get migraine treatment.

7. After the age of 40, get a routine checkup every year.

8. Keep weight under control. Keep away stress and tension. love yourself If stress is high, seek treatment.
